The premise is innocent enough, but the sexual jokes just didn't do anything for me save for the climactic crime-solving scene. Jim Carrey has made a career of overacting, and, while this isn't as bad as The Mask, it isn't anything to write home about. Honestly, this movie doesn't do it for me. Instead of Ace Ventura, my Jim Carrey memories include Liar Liar and Bruce Almighty.
